SPRING 2025

MONDAYS

Cooking: Breakfast Club (K-6th)

In this session, the kids will get to learn all sorts of breakfast treats, ranging from super simple, to a delicious meal to get excited over! They will be breakfast champions by the end, being able to crack eggs without a second thought and how to be a baking pro. 

 

Homework and Soccer Club (3rd-6th)

I help students with their academics and then soccer outside for 30 minutes each.

 

Kent Gardens Pickleball  (4th-6th)

Calling all 4th through 6th graders! Here's your chance to play the hottest game on the planet, PICKLEBALL!!! This will be an action packed session of learning how to play the game everyone is now playing! You will learn everything from the serve, to the volley, to the smash, and even how to hold the paddle. We will play Round Robin games of singles and doubles, also tournament-style play. 

** Equipment: Please provide your own paddle. If this is an issue, please reach out and let me know. Arrangements can be made.

 

Beginner Karate (K-6th)

This class is offered by a Kent Gardens Elementary school mom who is an international Certified black belt Instructor!! This class is designed for all belt levels ages 5–11. Students learn the basic levels of martial arts while participating in a fun, exciting atmosphere. Class is tailored to student’s individual needs and helps them grow to their fullest potential. Karate classes not only focus on instruction, but also learning valuable lessons related to discipline, motivation, self-control, and continual improvement. No previous training is required! The activities included: Basic self-defense skills, traditional karate forms known as Kata, tumbling skills/agility, a variety of Martial Arts activities, exciting/fun games, leadership training, board breaking, performance & awards (Trophies)!!! Character development, respect and self-control are promoted during the training to help students cope with life pressures. 

The instructor for this class is a highly qualified Black Belt with international Instructor certification through the IWKA and Penn State Karate. The Instructor for this class - Sensei Mami Gebereegziabher - Renshigo 5th Degree Black belt

 

Martial Art uniforms are included in the cost of the class!

 

Robopet Robotics (K-4th)

In this course, your builder will begin their exploration into the world of robotics by building simple, animal-inspired machines that are controlled by icon-based program codes. We will teach your little learner some fundamental engineering and programming concepts as they build goofy animals and design perfect habitats to protect their new robotic friends. Maybe you can't have an alligator as a pet at home, but you can definitely build one in our classroom at Snapology!



TUESDAYS

Homework and Basketball Club  (3rd-6th)

30 minutes of homework in 30 minutes of basketball either indoor or outdoor.

 

Coding  (3rd-6th)

It’s a fun coding class where students will learn foundational concepts using Scratch and then progress to Python. Scratch provides an engaging, visual introduction to coding, helping students understand the basics of programming logic and structure. Once they are comfortable with Scratch, they will move on to Python, a versatile and widely used programming language, to deepen their understanding and explore more advanced coding concepts.

 

Poppin Piano (K-3rd)

Students will participate in a music group. Students will learn about the instrument as well as how to play in a music group.   

FREE Rental instrument and curriculum included!  Instruments and music are intended for in class AND at home practice.  Rental Instrument must be returned at the last class.

 

Books & Bracelets (4th-6th)

Students will read or listen to books, and discuss the literature they have proactively chosen. Books may be obtained from those provided by the instructor, the KG or public library, FCPS Online Databases, or purchase a book of their choice.

Additionally, students will enjoy the opportunity to craft friendship bracelets with various themes developed by the students. Friendship bracelet supplies will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own beads and supplies.

 

Drawing Techniques  (2nd-6th)

Drawing Techniques is designed for students who want to expand and improve their drawing skills. Students will explore a variety of drawing techniques, such as shading, sighting, gridding, and one-point perspective. They'll experiment with different media, develop their own unique artistic style, and build confidence in their creative abilities. The class culminates in a self-directed drawing project where students will showcase their newfound skills and express their individual interests. 



WEDNESDAYS

Club Crafty  (2nd-5th)

Join Club Crafty!  

An afterschool club that sparks creativity and inspires young minds! Each session is packed with fun and engaging projects designed to let imaginations soar. From art and DIY crafts to hands-on activities, Club Crafty is where fun and creativity come together.

Groovy Guitar (K-3rd)

Students will participate in a music group. Students will learn about the instrument as well as how to play in a music group.   

FREE Rental instrument and curriculum included!  Instruments and music are intended for in class AND at home practice.  Rental Instrument must be returned at the last class.

 

Favorite PE Games (3rd-6th)

This is an opportunity for students in Grades 3-6 to come after school and play your favorite ALL TIME PE game. We will play Four Square, we will play Three Ball, we will play Kick ball, we will play MANY MANY more of your favorites you will get a chance to vote on!

 

Experimental Painting (K-6th)

Have you ever thought about painting with marbles, sticks, or even your fingers? If so, this class is for you! Students will explore unique alternatives to painting with a brush. Each week, we will study an artist and learn how to make a painting using a similar method. Students will get to take their paintings home once they are dry. 

 

Foundational Engineering (K-6th)

Does your little learner love to tinker and create new things, or are they the kind of learner who likes to break things apart to see what’s inside? If so, they’re going to love Snapology’s Foundational Engineering: Machines and Contraptions program! This program gives your student the tools they need to understand mechanical movement and the importance of simple machines. They will see these moving parts up-close as they follow instructions to build various machines and contraptions, then use the models to develop new design ideas, test out physics concepts, and even play games with their partners and classmates. Whether they are the creative-constructive type or prefer the inquisitive-deconstructive way of learning, this program is sure to spark their engineering interests!



THURSDAYS

Board Games  (3rd-6th)

Board Games is an exciting after-school program, taught by Mr. Naeemi, designed to engage students in the world of strategy, teamwork, and critical thinking through a wide variety of board games. From classic favorites to new challenges, kids will have fun while developing important skills like problem-solving, communication, and decision-making in a friendly, social environment. Whether it's a game of chess, Monopoly, or something unique, Board Games Academy makes learning and fun go hand in hand!

 

Creative Creations  (2nd-6th)

This class is designed to bring out the big artists in your elementary schoolers! A variety of  seasonal projects that include painting, sculpture, drawing, and mixed media will be offered, and each week your child will be excited to bring home their completed masterpiece. All projects are sure to spark your child's imagination and will provide a fun and engaging hands-on creative experience for all!

 

Dodgeball  (K-3rd)

Everyone's favorite game is back - Dodgeball has come to Kent Gardens!! We will play everything from your basic dodgeball, to doctor dodgeball, to deemer ball, to some versions you have never heard before! Come and join in on the greatest game ever!

 

Acting Improv Adventures (K-4th)

In this class, young performers step into the spotlight with laugh-out-loud activities! Each season offers fresh experiences through lively improv games and interactive acting exercises, focusing on storytelling and imaginative exploration instead of traditional scripts. Participants will think on their feet while enhancing their communication skills, stage presence, and teamwork in the exciting world of improvisation. Parents are invited to join us for a special mini-performance during the final class.


 



FRIDAYS

Slime Time!  (K-6th)

Who doesn't LOVE slime?! It's easy to make and is guaranteed to be FUN! Some are magnetic, some are inspired by famous wizarding books. Others are glittery or glow in the dark. It doesn't matter how we make it, it's the fun that comes in figuring it out. Our slime program is designed to see just how many ways and kinds of slime we can create. We'll discuss what an activator is and why no slime is complete without it. And, we will learn how different ingredients will change the outcome, texture and use of slime. Slime is awesome, but learning why it works is pretty cool too!

 

Dodgeball  (4th-6th)

Dodgeball is an energetic after-school program where students can unleash their competitive spirit, improve their agility, and build teamwork skills through the exciting and safe game of dodgeball. Team-taught by two fun and enthusiastic teachers from Kent Gardens (Mr. Naeemi & Ms. Lee), this program offers a fast-paced, action-packed environment where kids can stay active, make new friends, and learn the importance of sportsmanship. Get ready for a blast of fun and fitness with Dodgeball Academy!

 

Advanced Karate (1st-6th)

Advanced Isshinryu Karate is a fun-filled, comprehensive fitness and self-defense program. Physical fitness, personal safety, focus/discipline, confidence, self-esteem, self-defense, and self-control are a part of the everyday fun! This program is for students that are ready to take their martial arts training to the next level. We offer an advanced program for children 1st-6th grades (K upon approval). Students will continue to improve and add to their Isshinryu Karate technique, while incorporating other advanced training with belt/rank specific testing. Students in our advanced program will have opportunities to participate in karate tournaments and international night performances. There will be an assessment for belt replacement.

Martial Art uniforms are included in the cost of the class!
